I'm just a student. In my spare time I built this site to gather and preserve James's content and the community's work — free forever, no ads, so you can always find it, whenever you look.
To be clear up front: this site is not run or maintained by James himself. It's simply one student's labor of love — collecting and keeping these things safe.
I'm a student from mainland China, and I only came to investing and CLEC this year. I'm no expert, and I'm still learning — this site is a small thing I wanted to do for the community, as someone it has helped.
I deeply respect a few of James's principles, and this site tries to carry them on:
In June this year, CLEC's YouTube channel was taken down. Afterward, James and I got to talking: should we build a site and put the teachings and the community's work somewhere safe, for whoever comes next? And so, here it is.
My reason is simple: I don't do this for money. I learned a few things in this community, and I just wanted to give something back.
This site is free, and always will be.
No advertising, and nothing to interrupt you.
So that whenever — and whatever happens — you can still reach it and find what you need.
Building this site took some AI models and a fair bit of care (those little online tools, for one), and running the server costs a little too. So sponsorship works here the way it does on Wikipedia: if you found it useful, you're welcome to chip in toward the costs — and if now isn't a good time, that's completely fine. The content stays free for everyone either way.
And I mean this: the money only covers costs — it isn't income for me. If sponsorships ever run past that, I'll simply close this off. It was never meant to make money.
A few small things you might find handy.
Two round buttons sit at the top-right: one toggles dark / light (it can follow your system), the other switches language (English / Simplified / Traditional Chinese). One note: on some systems the flag icon beside Traditional Chinese shows up as an ✕ or an empty box — that's just a system-font quirk, perfectly normal, and it changes nothing.
The main pages all live in the top and bottom navigation. If it's your first time, start with “Start Here” — it gathers the blog, videos, docs, and library into one page, numbered so you can read straight through.
Under Tools are a few utilities I made: an index watch, a dollar-cost-averaging calculator, an asset-allocation simulator, a global ETF comparison — please use them, and tell me what could be better.
The site is brand new, so there's surely something I've missed. I want to hear all of it.
It's early days — there may be bugs or mistakes I haven't caught yet. If you spot one, please tell me.
Which tools would you like next? Tell me, and I'll build them.
If there are other friends' social accounts worth adding, I'd be glad to put them on the nav page.
