Most people do not have the ability to identify and choose a good active fund they can believe in for a lifetime, just as ordinary people cannot choose good individual stocks they can hold forever for a lifetime. But that does not mean choosing individual stocks yourself is bad. It still depends on your circle of competence. I believe Cathie Wood has the strength to become a good active fund manager. Buffett is not the only good fund manager!
I generally suggest that U.S. investors use QQQ 70% and ARKK 30% as the simplest portfolio, with no need to pick individual stocks themselves.
In Taiwan, I generally recommend 00757, TSMC, together with QQQ and the four major funds.
00757 and TSMC are domestic Taiwanese funds and stocks, so there is no alternative minimum tax issue. For Taiwanese investors investing in the U.S. market, 00757 and TSMC are the simplest investment portfolio.
