Dear James,
It has been a long time since I wrote to you. I want to share my recent situation.
At the end of last year, I took an additional mortgage loan of 10 million and invested it. It was truly the most correct and important decision of my life. I am grateful to have known you and learned CLEC investing theory and asset allocation. Although I was a little uneasy in the beginning, I kept listening to your videos every day to strengthen my confidence.
Recently the market has kept rising, and my assets have increased quite a lot. I am really happy. After being a homemaker at home for 25 years, I finally feel a little sense of achievement. When you have money, you have confidence. Many things can be decided by myself, without having to ask my husband about everything. The feeling of having autonomy is truly wonderful. I feel fearless about anything. Thank you very much.
Listening to your videos every day gives me peace and strength. I often fall asleep while listening. Your voice gives me a deep sense of security. Beyond gratitude, there is still only gratitude. I want to tell you that I am really doing well and very happy because of you. I wish you and your family peace, health, and happiness during the Dragon Boat Festival.
James's reply:
I am very happy to receive your letter. We need wealth in order to have freedom.
In this capitalist society, although we can train ourselves to have inner peace, without wealth your heart cannot truly be at peace. The external objective environment is worldly. Without money, there is no power.
Every homemaker, if she invests the available funds within her own ability, can also obtain great wealth and gain freedom in family and life.
Capitalism is this free, open, and equal. Everyone can have wealth and freedom in life, no matter what profession, race, or identity they have.
I have said that even a homeless person who begs can become wealthy. As long as one-third of the money received through begging can be invested, it can also become wealth. Especially now, for many homeless people, eating is not the problem, because many charitable organizations provide three meals. At least that is the understanding in Taiwan. If one does some temporary work, saves money, and invests, one can also become financially free and live an abundant life.
As for people who cannot become financially free, it is not because of income, profession, or identity. It is because their cognition is not in place.

Chapter 45 [The 1929 Great Depression: Causes, Process, and Results, Part 1]
The Great Depression was the largest economic depression in human history. The United States' GDP fell 15%, U.S. unemployment reached 23%, and unemployment in other countries reached as high as 33%. Agricultural product prices fell 60%. By mid-1930, interest rates had fallen to low levels, but expected deflation and people's continued reluctance to borrow meant that consumer spending and investment remained low.

Buy, hold, never sell, and ignore the market. Remember how the market fell and came back in March. Do not make the same mistake twice.
