Clearing the Investment Fog: What Really Decides Your Success Isn't Prediction

The hardest part of investing isn't market swings but admitting what you don't know. Focus on what you can control: keep investing, hold long term, manage risk, and stay disciplined.

The hardest part of investing is not the market's ups and downs, but recognizing what you yourself do not know.

Many people guess every single day:

When will it fall?

When will it rise?

What will the Fed do?

Can AI keep rising?

The truth is, no one knows.

If someone really could keep predicting the market, they would already be the richest person in the world.

The biggest trap in investing is overestimating your own judgment—believing you can read the future and catch the highs and lows. In the end, it usually isn't earning more, but doing more and getting more wrong.

A truly outstanding investor is not the one who predicts best, but the one who best understands the limits of their own ability.

We have to accept one thing: the future is inherently unpredictable.

Since it cannot be predicted, don't waste time guessing—put your energy into the things you can control.

For example:

● Keep investing.

● Hold for the long term.

● Control risk.

● Build the right asset allocation.

● Don't change your investment discipline because of market volatility.

Investing doesn't require being smart enough to predict the future; it only requires the discipline not to do foolish things.

When you start to acknowledge your own limits, you actually gain the greatest freedom.

Because you no longer have to guess the market every day, chase the news, or fear short-term swings.

Give time to the market, and give compounding to time.

True investment success comes not from knowing the future, but from being willing to accept that no one knows the future—and then persisting in doing the right things.

Not knowing the future is, in fact, the most powerful place to begin investing.

[Insurance is insurance, not investment, and it will not make you rich! 】

Date written: July 29, 2018 Insurance won’t make you rich. Would you like to get rich by buying fire insurance or car insurance? Insurance is insurance, not investment! If you want to invest, just buy index funds. In fact, most of other investment-type insurance policies are selling people off like sheep, so don’t be fooled! Many insurance and annuity sellers only emphasize how much you can return in the end, how much you get back, and how much you pay out, without emphasizing whether you need it. Many people only hear that they can get back 20,000 yuan a year

Chapter 76 [Walking slowly on a long road - letter sharing part one]

Hello, Mr. James: In this issue, some friends have asked questions about individual stocks, such as whether stocks of a certain concept can be bought, and whether those stocks will have the opportunity to rise sharply in the future. In my opinion, it may be that QQQ has started to correct after bottoming out, and everyone is more or less impatient (cannot bear loneliness, want to recover floating losses or want to make money faster). These psychological emotions are taboos when investing in the stock market. Let me first talk about my experience in the stock market. I entered the A-share market in 2017.

Chapter 49 [Time is the friend of value investors]

Chapter 49 [Time is the friend of value investors]

Next, Buffett's investment rules, the first is not to lose money, the second is not to lose money, and the third is to remember the first two. This means that when you buy again, you must buy the right asset, and when considering investment targets, you must be careful, careful, and careful again! If you have the same valuation and evaluation skills as Buffett, you can invest in individual stocks like Buffett, buy when the price is much lower than the value, and sell when the value is much higher than the price. The average person does not have the ability to evaluate the value of individual stocks, so they cannot determine investment
