However Much Spiritual Energy You Have Is However Much Wealth You Can Handle

A student shares what repeated, focused viewing of the long and short videos taught her, then asks whether enriching one's own spiritual energy is the true point of learning to invest; James replies that wealth is proportional to spiritual energy.

Thank you, Teacher!

I was delighted to receive your reply. Thank you for answering so quickly, I am truly grateful!

In order to study the investment course better, I have been working through the earlier long-form and short-form videos.

The more I listen, the more I realize that whether it is a short video or a long one, I have to listen seriously and with full attention. Otherwise I miss a great many key points, especially all the life philosophy there is to learn.

At first, when I listened to a long video while reading your written version of "Origins of Today," I felt I could keep up with the pace of your teaching.

Later, when I listened to a short video while reading the written version of "Origins of Today," I found that my train of thought clearly could not keep up with the pace at which the short videos deliver ideas. So I had to listen to the short videos with full concentration and could not do anything else at the same time.

Teacher, do you know? I have now discovered that in the long videos, when students ask you questions and share their joys and troubles from real life episode by episode, there is so much for me to learn, in every small detail. These are real people and things that actually happened. I have to take out a pen and notebook and listen with an undistracted, completely focused mind, writing down the points you make, before I can understand and absorb them.

Before writing this letter, I was watching your episode "Being Wealthy Is a Gift: QQQ Will Eventually Reach One Thousand, Ten Thousand, Even One Million!" You said, "Spiritual energy is the greatest wealth." "The money will keep coming."

"Has your investing reached the level of faith? When you invest, can your heart truly achieve 'believe, execute, hold conviction, endure, have faith'?"

"Spiritual energy is the greatest wealth!"

"I will be very wealthy! My money will keep coming!"

Teacher, may I ask you: I have only just realized that "making your own spiritual energy abundant is the true point of learning to invest." Teacher, is my understanding correct?

If so, I need to work on both the "investing actions" and the "inner world" at the same time, learning and improving on both fronts together! Teacher, is that right?

Thank you for listening to my rambling. The above is what I have felt and learned bit by bit recently.

Thank you, Teacher! I look forward to your reply.

I wish you good health, and I wish everyone a good mood every day!

James's Reply

Thank you for writing and sharing; you are very earnest. When we do one thing, we do that one thing with full attention. When I read your letters and reply to them, I am concentrating on reading and replying, I do not listen to the radio while writing back to you. This is "presence": living in the present in every minute and every second, doing only one thing, so that your spiritual energy can rise. If you do three or five things at once, your mind becomes disordered and your spiritual energy will certainly decline.

However much spiritual energy you have is however much wealth you can have. Our wealth is directly proportional to our spiritual energy. Look at the many people who win the lottery and still end up penniless: because they have no spiritual energy, the wealth they obtain will eventually be lost.

So everyone should build spiritual energy and grow wealth at the same time, and only then can you manage your wealth. With sufficient spiritual energy, you can manage enormous material energy.

The best way to build your own spiritual energy is to read. Any book is worth reading, rather than watching short-form video from outside or today's multimedia information, which is all dross. The more of it you watch, the lower your spiritual energy becomes.

If your time is limited, watching only our videos is enough; you do not need to touch any other outside information, and your spiritual energy will rise naturally. If you do want to look at outside material, it is best to read the classics, such as "Laozi," "Zhuangzi," "The Diamond Sutra," and some of the ancient Chinese classics. That is the best channel for raising spiritual energy.

Chapter 81 [Letter from students asking questions]

"Hi James, thank you for your reply. \"That is assuming that you happened to buy at the highest point in 2007. If you buy at the lowest point in 2009, the annualized return can reach 20%. The annualized return depends on your fate! Investors in 2007, the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 are a little worse. Those who start investing at the end of 2009 and now will have a better life. One fate, two luck, and three themselves." This sentence is really well written, do you think 2023
