Chapter 3 Asset Allocation: Cash is air. Asset allocation is about staying alive. Asset allocation is like deciding how much chili to add to noodles: everyone is different. Do not ask what your asset allocation should be, just as you would not ask me what seasoning to add to your noodles. Asset allocation differs for people who are still working, people who have retired, and people who need cash flow for daily life.

Cash is air, investment must be alive
-
If you are still working, keep six months to one year of living expenses in cash, and invest the rest in QQQ (Taiwan 00662; China 513100).
-
For those who have retired, excluding high-dividend investments, 20% to 30% of assets must be in cash.
Many people will come to ask the teacher, should I invest in a single sum or in batches?
-
Our investment approach is very simple. Once you have made an asset allocation plan, you can buy at market price with one click.
-
Do not ask again whether to invest in one lump sum or in batches.
Asset allocation with a retirement withdrawal rate of 2%~3%
-
The asset allocation of 2% of the assets withdrawn every year is 80% investment QQQ (00662;513100); 20% short-term bonds or money market funds BOXX (SGOV; 00865B; 161115 (E Fund Suifeng Tianli Bond))
-
The asset allocation of 3% of the assets withdrawn every year is 70% investment QQQ (00662;513100); 30% short-term bonds or money market funds BOXX (SGOV; 00865B; 161115 (E Fund Suifeng Tianli Bond))
Asset allocation for pledged loans when the retirement withdrawal rate is between 2% and 3%
-
The asset allocation of 2% of the assets withdrawn every year is 80% investment QQQ (00662;513100); 20% short-term bonds or money market funds BOXX (SGOV; 000865B), rebalanced every year, and you can pledge 2% to live your life!
-
The asset allocation of 3% of the assets withdrawn every year is 65% investment QQQ (00662;513100); 35% short-term bonds or money market funds BOXX (SGOV; 000865B), which is rebalanced every year, and you can pledge 3% of the borrowed money to live!
Asset allocation with retirement withdrawal rate exceeding 3%
-
First calculate the annual expenses for each year, and then calculate the monthly cash flow required for expenses.
-
First invest 100 times your monthly expenses in QQQI high dividend assets; then you can receive 1% of your living cash flow each month.
-
Invest the remaining assets 70% in QQQ (00662; 513100) and 30% in short-term bonds or money market funds BOXX (SGOV; 00865B; 161115 (E Fund Suifeng Tianli Bond)).
