Short-Term Investing Depends on Your Fate
For index investing, do not trade. Hold for the long term. The longer the time in the market, the better the investor's fortune becomes.

When investing in indexes, do not trade. In the long run, you will profit.
Investing also depends on your birth timing and fate.
If you knew to invest in 2009 and happened to join CLEC then, your buying point would be better than someone in 2010. That has to do with your fate. But good fate does not necessarily mean good luck. If you keep being afraid to invest, or trade frequently, even good fate is useless.
Likewise, the fate of students who joined CLEC investment classes in 2016 or 2017 is better than that of students in 2018.
But students from 2015 did not necessarily have a better fate that year than students from 2018; it was worse than 2017. Yet after time passed, students from 2015 were still better off than students from 2017 and 2018.
So students from 2018 will have better investment fate in the future than students from 2020 or 2025. In other words, even if your original fate looks bad, on the road of investing, the longer the time, the better the passing years become. This is the concept of the infinite game of investing.

Chapter 15 [If I hadn’t avoided the bubble twice, I might have been richer]
Everyone will definitely think that my current wealth is due to avoiding two bubbles. In fact, I have to be honest with you. I was able to avoid these two bubbles because of pure luck. There is absolutely no so-called technical ability or basic analysis ability. It is completely luck! I often say that short-term operators are like a broken clock, which is accurate twice a day, and there are only a few broken clocks that are accurate twice a day. Usually many short-term operators are occasionally correct in small places, but most of them are correct in big rises.
