Chapter 53 [Live a relaxed life and find your soul (Part 1)]

Life is supposed to move in slow motion, but today people live their lives in twice as fast. The same is true for the stock market. In the long run, the market moves at a slow pace. But if we keep an eye on the market every day, we will live our lives at double or triple the speed. It feels like the market is rising and falling rapidly. It seems that if we miss the market, we will lose a lot. When the market goes up, you worry about not being able to catch up; when the market goes down, you feel frustrated. Life is completely controlled by the outside world, and you lose yourself and become a walking zombie.

[James Origin and Today] Chapter 53 - Live a relaxed life and find your own soul [Part 1] (08/03/2023)

Life is completely controlled by the outside world, and we lose ourselves and become a walking zombie.

However, as long as we find ourselves, we can live a good life. So what is "I"? Where do I exist? If you don't know where "I" is, you won't be able to find yourself, but you will lose yourself.

Zhuangzi's "Equality of Things" mentioned that we have five senses, so do our five senses and perceptions represent my existence? If so, then who among the facial features, ears, nose, eyes, and limbs is the protagonist? If our five senses only see, hear, and feel, these are not the real "I", then where do I exist?

Maybe I exist in the brain, but where in the brain? Or does it not exist in the mind at all? So where does "I" exist?

In fact, our bodies, including our facial features, internal organs, and brain, are just tools, just like other organs. Our limbs are controlled by nerve conductions, and nerve signals come from the brain, which is influenced by the so-called subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the invisible part of our being, the real "me". The brain is just an organ of our body, just like the five senses and internal organs. Our subconscious "I" controls the brain, which in turn controls the functioning of the entire body. If the subconscious mind cannot control our brain and let it be controlled by the information received by the five senses, then we will be like floating clouds floating in the world.

Modern people can easily lose themselves because we have given up taking the initiative to control our own thinking and let external information control our brains through our five senses. We receive too much confusing information and noise, which makes our subconscious mind exhausted and energy is constantly consumed. As a result, our subconscious mind is indirectly controlled and we completely lose ourselves. This is the wrong direction to operate.

In order to control ourselves, we need to start from the subconscious mind, first control what information we receive, and reject those we do not want to receive. We should have complete decision-making power. Then, we can use our subconscious mind to cultivate positive thinking. Imagine beaches, beautiful scenery, and a happy future life, and control our brains with positive thoughts. Our thoughts and brains are up to us to decide, and we should not let outside information control them. When we can use the power of our subconscious mind to control the operation of our brain, we can decide what information our eyes and ears receive. We should be the masters of our bodies, rather than letting the outside world control our bodies and determine how our brains work. Only in this way can we truly take control of our lives.
