Every retired investor only needs to focus on managing their own asset allocation well.

Every retired investor only needs to focus on managing their own asset allocation well.

Every retiree has different total assets, annual expenses, risk tolerance, and retirement goals, so the suitable asset allocation will also differ. Do not care too much about other people's asset allocations, and do not compare your own situation with others. Just focus on the allocation that is most suitable for you.

The most important core of retirement asset allocation is not to pursue the highest return, but first to establish stable and sufficient cash flow, so that retirement life can be secure, long-lasting, and unaffected by market volatility.

Part One: Establish Living Cash Flow

Invest 10 years of annual expenses in QQQI through sub-brokerage.

QQQI can provide monthly distributions close to about 1%, generating roughly 12% cash flow per year.

For example:

If you need 1 million yuan per year for living expenses:

100 ÷ 12% = 8.3333 million yuan

In other words, investing about 8.34 million yuan in QQQI can provide about 1 million yuan of annual cash flow.

If using 10 years of annual expenses as the allocation:

1 million × 10 = 10 million yuan

10 million × 12% = 1.2 million yuan of annual cash flow, which is 200,000 yuan more than the required 1 million yuan per year, or about a 20% safety margin.

Part Two: Establish Long-Term Growth Assets

Prepare another 5 years of annual expenses as growth-oriented investment.

1 million × 5 = 5 million yuan

Suggested allocation is as follows:

  • 70% (3.5 million yuan) invested in QQQ (00662 can be used in Taiwan)
  • 30% (1.5 million yuan) invested in BOXX (00865B can be used in Taiwan)

The goal of this part is to pursue long-term asset growth.

What you truly need to do is focus on this kind of asset allocation. There is no need to guess daily market movements, nor to adjust the portfolio frequently. Let time and the market's long-term growth accumulate wealth for you.

Chapter 56 [Investment Philosophy] - Overcoming fear, anti-market, anti-human operations

Investment must be in the opposite direction of the masses. When the general environment is favorable for the stock market to rise, a market fall is an opportunity and a good thing. The hardest thing about investing is overcoming the fear of falling markets. The mentality process of investors is as follows: When the market first rises and falls, investors don't feel it at all; when the market continues to fall, they think it is a long-term hold and don't worry! When the market continues to fall, think, ah! How can I sell it when it has fallen so much? I will lose money as soon as I sell it, so I decided not to sell it! 【Courage is great! 】 When the market decline intensifies, start to imagine the market

Chapter 26 [Watching the market fight with itself and predictions from monkeys]

On February 24, 2022, U.S. stock futures and pre-market stocks fell sharply before the market opened. The index fell 3.x% before the market opened, and Tesla fell more than 7%. It can be seen from this that the market has reached extreme panic, and many investors who have no confidence will be in the market. He sold out his holdings at the opening. This was caused by the market's fear. QQQ opened down $10.58, a drop of 3.2%. After extreme fear, QQQ closed up 3.36% to $340.49, up from $340.49.

Chapter 61 [There is no problem with long-term investment, the problem is the cognitive error of investment quality]

Many investors hear our long-term investment theory and think it is very correct. They make up their minds to be long-term investors. Whether they buy in batches or listen to our advice and go all-in in a single transaction, when the market rises, they all think how wise and smart they are. Think of the bulls in the market as your own ingenuity. However, if the market falls and you start to make small losses, you can still stick to long-term investment. But when the loss reaches 20%, you will start to get nervous, unable to eat or sleep, and when the market
