Disclaimer
Since July 2023, we have begun the process of canceling the company registration and nonprofit organization procedures for "CLEC Education Academy" and have changed all names to "CLEC Investment and Financial Management Channel," formerly "CLEC Investment and Financial Management Education Academy." We may still use CLEC. Please remember that unless it is James Chen himself, it has nothing to do with us; do not be deceived.
Our videos and related content are for educational purposes only and are not for profit. We do not operate any discussion groups or communities. If someone invites you to join one, please beware of scams.
For more than twenty years, we have been committed to volunteer teaching and have never profited from it. Do not trust any paid investment advice. Although ads may appear on YouTube videos, that is outside our control and we do not profit from them.
All information we provide is only a sharing of personal experience. It is not advice from a professional investment advisor (Certified Financial Advisor/Planner). Investment decisions should be based on your own research and should not rely solely on video content.
Investing is risky and may lead to significant losses. If you cannot tolerate a short-term loss of more than 10% or a decline of more than 20% over several years, we recommend that you do not invest. Pay attention to your own cash-flow safety and fully understand our investment philosophy before taking action. Invest prudently; all decisions are your own responsibility.

New friends, please watch the following videos on our channel first.
Investing blindly without learning is dangerous
-
Watch our videos and ask specific questions, including:
-
The video number and the timestamp where the question came up.
-
Asking questions after watching the video is the most effective way to learn.
CLEC has no discussion groups, and we have not authorized anyone to act on our behalf
- We cannot know the membership or purpose of any group, and such groups can easily be infiltrated by people with bad intentions.
The investments we mainly recommend are the Nasdaq 100 index fund QQQ and the corresponding local ETFs issued in each country
-
Do not rely entirely on financial consultants, including Charles Schwab financial consultants. They can help with account opening, but we do not recommend fully adopting the ETFs or other financial products they suggest.
-
Over the long term, the Nasdaq 100 index fund and the S&P 500 index fund have been among the best-performing investments. Outside of these, individual stocks, funds, and financial products usually do not help investment success and should be avoided.
We recommend investing 100% in a Nasdaq 100 index fund
-
United States: We recommend buying QQQ, or QQQM for smaller accounts. Cash can be placed in money market fund SWVXX or short-term Treasury bill ETFs BIL and SGOV.
-
Taiwan investors: We recommend Fubon NASDAQ 00662. Cash can be invested in CTBC U.S. Government 0-1 Year Bond ETF Fund (00864B.TW).
-
China investors: We recommend 513100/513300/160213/159941/161130/159660.
-
Hong Kong investors: You can choose HKD 3086, USD 9086, ETF 2834 (HKD), or 9834 (USD).
-
Canada investors: We recommend converting to U.S. dollars and buying QQQ directly, or investing in Canadian-dollar products QQC.TO/ETF (HXQ.TO).
-
Australia investors: We recommend buying NDQ.
-
United Kingdom investors: We recommend the U.S.-dollar-denominated iShares VII Public Limited Company - iShares NASDAQ 100 UCITS ETF (CNDX.L). In Europe, we recommend EQQQ and CSPX.L.
-
Brazil: The recently launched Nasdaq index fund is NASD11.
-
Japan investors: You can choose 2568/1545/2631.
-
Malaysia and Singapore investors: You can purchase U.S. QQQ through a Phillip Securities POEMS Cash Plus trading account.
-
South Korea: The recommended QQQ ETFs are 368590.KS/133690.KS/367380.KS.
Since 2018, we have kept all videos on YouTube so everyone can learn investing in chronological order
-
The videos reflect the market conditions and appropriate investment decisions at the time. As time changes, some strategies may no longer apply. They remain valuable learning resources.
-
Viewers should interpret each video in the context of the market conditions at that time, and develop their own thinking and judgment.
-
Our early investment recommendations included certain individual stocks and regular funds. Although they were good choices at the time, suitable investments must also account for personal risk tolerance and investment strategy.

This is a message to thank Teacher James:
-
After hearing the teacher’s views on suicide at the end of this episode, I recalled that I started to follow the teacher at the end of 2021 and transferred all my stock positions to QQQ. At that time, I bought it at about 370 yuan, and then encountered a bear market correction in 2022. At the same time, I encountered problems in my business that led to lawsuits, and various financial pressures also caused family disputes. I had to rely on depression medication to survive the day, and I once had suicidal thoughts.
-
A large part of the important support in life now comes from listening to the teacher's classes every week, and gaining the confidence to face the market and life.
-
As time goes all the way to 2024, although I have gone through these hardships, I am lucky that the last straw that knocked me down did not appear. The bad situations were all resolved one by one, and the QQQ in my hand reached new highs again and again. Thank you, Teacher, for taking the trouble to teach all sentient beings free of charge, so that the Buddha can help those who are destined. I sincerely thank you, teacher, for allowing me to survive the setbacks and market declines and become stronger mentally than I will be in 2022.
-
When there is no wheat in my hand when it falls, it will have nothing to do with me when it rises. Building the psychological quality of the market's ups and downs is priceless. I sincerely thank the teacher for his guidance and teaching.
The market looks promising now, but everyone must still be mentally prepared: the market can fall into hell again at any time
-
Thank you for sharing your message. I know this is really, really hard. As you can imagine, it is very difficult when the market falls, especially when assets lose more than half, and you encounter the biggest hurdle in your life.
-
So everyone must remember to think of the bright side during difficult times. I remember that the most common thing I said in 2024 was "The darkness will pass, and the dawn will eventually come." Don't give up, so you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
-
The market is optimistic now, but everyone still needs to be prepared that the market may fall into hell again at any time.
It’s just that we don’t know when it will be, so everyone must prepare their cash flow positions. That's why all of our asset allocations have a large portion in cash. Cash is air, cash is life-saving, without cash, you will eventually be unable to breathe.
- Many investment strategies in the market, such as asset allocation, chasing individual stocks, or using leverage to buy triple index funds, do not consider whether you can still survive if the market drops to zero? This is important.
[The highest guiding principle for asset allocation]
-
No matter in any extreme situation:
-
- money market and fixed deposits have no interest.
-
- Borrowing interest rates have risen to the sky
-
- The stock price drops to zero. The market is closed. (The market has been bearish for several years.
)
-
Must have long-term stable cash flow.
-
Have emergency funds readily available.
-
Assets must be able to continue to increase in value and resist inflation.

Thank you for your guidance. More than one friend also asked me if everyone is buying ETFs like crazy now, then ETFs will be very dangerous and will fall. I told them the following:
-
- Many so-called ETFs are actually not passive investments, but active investments with popular themes and stock selections. They are labeled as ETFs to deceive the investing public who do not understand, such as Taiwan's high value and China's electric vehicles.
-
- We want to choose the ETF of the whole market, not the theme or stock selection ETF, because the theme will change, and the stock selection may be wrong, but investing in the whole market will not be wrong, because human beings will continue to make progress. For example, although houses in Taipei are old, why are they so expensive? This is because urban development facilitates growth. There are various small clinics for otolaryngology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, neurology, and rehabilitation on the same road as my home. Taking the MRT can meet various food, clothing, housing and transportation needs, but other counties and cities cannot achieve such convenience.
-
- A bunch of people buying ETFs will lead to ETF bubbles. This problem is like the ignorant media reporting that China is the largest holder of U.S. debt. Therefore, when China and the United States war, China can retaliate against the United States by selling a large amount of U.S. debt. If you think about it for a moment, you should ask what proportion of U.S. debt China holds, rather than what amount of U.S. debt it holds. For a country that can print large amounts of money, is it afraid of debt?
James
-
- Pledge stocks to be raised by banks. This is basically based on the ability to hold stocks for a long time. Except for ordinary people who hold up stocks, few people can hold stocks for more than 3 years. Therefore, pledging stocks allows banks to send money every year. This is for investors who can endure the market ups and downs and overcome the greed of taking profits and the fear of market crashes. This is a bonus for long-term investors whose assets grow to a certain size.
-
- Ask yourself how long is your investment cycle? To grow from small-scale capital to large-scale capital, you need to experience many market fluctuations. At the same time, you need to plan this investment plan with a 10-year, 20-year or even decades-long perspective, and constantly learn to improve your financial intelligence. This is like a little loach that wants to become a dragon and needs to survive hundreds of thousands of trials. However, most people often get discouraged during the learning process because human nature only wants to make quick money and seek good fortune and avoid misfortune.
-
James:
-
Thank you very much for sharing your message. Every time your message is very insightful and worth sharing, you can see your deep understanding and feelings about the market from between the lines. It is difficult to express such a profound thing without personal experience and feelings. Thanks!
Clubhouse message issue
- Teacher, what should we do if we cannot pledge in the country of immigration? There is a limit to how rich you can be. .
. ? I just checked about U.S. investment immigration. I don’t have much money but it seems like it’s troublesome to hire more than 10 people?
-
James' answer:
-
You don’t need to actually open a company. You can apply for EB-5 investment immigration as long as you have US$800,000.
I have a colleague who used to work at Acer and he is very familiar with this. If necessary, you can contact me and I can introduce you to each other (there is no commercial relationship between us at all). The United States remains the best country to immigrate to, mainly because of its fairness and financial development.
Clubhouse Questions
-
For single young people overseas, should parents be filled in in the beneficiary (nominee) field of their investment accounts in the United States? Will the procedures for receiving the money be complicated?
-
James' answer:
-
You can fill in non-American parents or siblings, etc., no problem. Especially at Charles Schwab, the more detailed the beneficiary information is, the less trouble you will have in the future. If you have any questions, you can ask my financial advisor, Lisa. Note that the passport number will change. Taiwanese must use the ID number and the correct English pinyin. The English pinyin should use the pinyin on the passport. The address content should also be updated at any time. Remember to update the beneficiary information frequently.
I have studied with the teacher for more than two years, learning all the way, and finally summed it up in one sentence
-
Tony Chang:
-
I have been studying with the teacher for more than 2 years, learning along the way, and finally summed up this sentence:
-
Summary: 3 no 1 will win - don't watch - don't listen - ignore - no hype. Above!
-
Buy it and call it a day. It's really that simple. If you want to learn other fi, you have to attend every class
Buy immediately at the market price and enjoy life
-
Learning is also about learning the following cognitions:
-
Buy immediately, at market price, and enjoy life.
-
Don’t look, don’t listen, don’t pay attention, don’t operate.
-
Borrow money to live and let your money continue to grow forever.
Teacher from the CLEC Investment and Financial Management Channel, investing is truly difficult
-
Tony Chang:
-
Teacher from CLEC Investment and Financial Management Channel, investing is really difficult.
-
The teacher worked tirelessly to teach us and planted the correct concept and knowledge of financial management in our hearts.
-
I uphold the teacher's altruistic spirit and share it with those who are destined. However, there are very few people who dare to hold a full position All In, let alone borrow money to invest.
-
The teacher said that people have their own destiny, and money has their destiny. Those who are deeply related to wealth will gather together, and those who are weak will be separated.
We are walking a difficult road, but we keep going, life after life!
-
You are one of the most thorough in implementing our teaching recommendations and one of the most rewarding learners. With students like you, even if just one can execute thoroughly and achieve investment success, all my efforts will be worth it.
-
We are walking on a difficult road, but keep going, life after life!
-
The saints of the past also encountered the same dilemma as us, but persistence is the only way to achieve the goal.
-
After thousands of years, there are still only a few people in the world who can understand what the sage said and follow his thinking. Let us move forward happily!
