Disclaimer
Since July 2023, we have begun the process of canceling the company registration and nonprofit organization procedures for "CLEC Education Academy" and have changed all names to "CLEC Investment and Financial Management Channel," formerly "CLEC Investment and Financial Management Education Academy." We may still use CLEC. Please remember that unless it is James Chen himself, it has nothing to do with us; do not be deceived.
Our videos and related content are for educational purposes only and are not for profit. We do not operate any discussion groups or communities. If someone invites you to join one, please beware of scams.
For more than twenty years, we have been committed to volunteer teaching and have never profited from it. Do not trust any paid investment advice. Although ads may appear on YouTube videos, that is outside our control and we do not profit from them.
All information we provide is only a sharing of personal experience. It is not advice from a professional investment advisor (Certified Financial Advisor/Planner). Investment decisions should be based on your own research and should not rely solely on video content.
Investing is risky and may lead to significant losses. If you cannot tolerate a short-term loss of more than 10% or a decline of more than 20% over several years, we recommend that you do not invest. Pay attention to your own cash-flow safety and fully understand our investment philosophy before taking action. Invest prudently; all decisions are your own responsibility.

New friends, please watch the following videos on our channel first.
Investing blindly without learning is dangerous
-
Watch our videos and ask specific questions, including:
-
The video number and the timestamp where the question came up.
-
Asking questions after watching the video is the most effective way to learn.
CLEC has no discussion groups, and we have not authorized anyone to act on our behalf
- We cannot know the membership or purpose of any group, and such groups can easily be infiltrated by people with bad intentions.
The investments we mainly recommend are the Nasdaq 100 index fund QQQ and the corresponding local ETFs issued in each country
-
Do not rely entirely on financial consultants, including Charles Schwab financial consultants. They can help with account opening, but we do not recommend fully adopting the ETFs or other financial products they suggest.
-
Over the long term, the Nasdaq 100 index fund and the S&P 500 index fund have been among the best-performing investments. Outside of these, individual stocks, funds, and financial products usually do not help investment success and should be avoided.
We recommend investing 100% in a Nasdaq 100 index fund.
United States: We recommend buying QQQ, or QQQM for smaller accounts. Cash can be placed in money market fund SWVXX or short-term Treasury bill ETFs BIL and SGOV.
Taiwan investors: We recommend Fubon NASDAQ 00662. Cash can be invested in CTBC U.S. Government 0-1 Year Bond ETF Fund (00864B.TW).
China investors: We recommend 513100/513300/160213/159941/161130/159660.
Hong Kong investors: You can choose HKD 3086, USD 9086, ETF 2834 (HKD), or 9834 (USD).
Canada investors: We recommend converting to U.S. dollars and buying QQQ directly, or investing in Canadian-dollar products QQC.TO/ETF (HXQ.TO).
Australia investors: We recommend buying NDQ.
United Kingdom investors: We recommend the U.S.-dollar-denominated iShares VII Public Limited Company - iShares NASDAQ 100 UCITS ETF (CNDX.L). In Europe, we recommend EQQQ and CSPX.L.
Brazil: The recently launched Nasdaq index fund is NASD11.
Japan investors: You can choose 2568/1545/2631.
Malaysian and Singaporean citizens: You can purchase U.S. QQQ through Phillip Securities POEMS Cash Plus trading account.
South Korea: The recommended QQQ ETFs are 368590.KS/133690.KS/367380.KS.
Since 2018, we have kept all videos on YouTube so everyone can learn investing in chronological order
-
The videos reflect the market conditions and appropriate investment decisions at the time. As time changes, some strategies may no longer apply. They remain valuable learning resources.
-
Viewers should interpret each video in the context of the market conditions at that time, and develop their own thinking and judgment.
-
Our early investment recommendations included certain individual stocks and regular funds. Although they were good choices at the time, suitable investments must also account for personal risk tolerance and investment strategy.

Xiao Feier In addition to deducting handling fees when buying and selling stocks in Taiwan, there is also a transaction tax. Isn’t this transaction tax a capital gains tax? ?
A transaction is a transaction. If there is a transaction, there are fees. If there is no transaction, there will be no fees. The government uses "transaction tax" to scare everyone
-
Capital gains, there is tax on gains, there is no tax on gains without gains, and losses can be tax deducted.
-
Can transactions and gains be equated? Fees are generated by your actions, so if there are transactions and fees, they are fees, not taxes.
-
When the government fools the poor, it will tell you that the certificate tax and the certificate office tax are both taxes.
-
Because rich people do not trade frequently and only trade a few times in a lifetime, they do not need to pay income tax. As long as they make hundreds of millions in one transaction, they only pay a few thousandths of the fee but do not pay tax.
-
Also, we only borrow money and don’t sell stocks, and even the certificate fees are waived. This is the government's policy of virtue for the rich.
-
The rich and the government have joined forces to deceive the people by using the name "tax" instead of "fee" for the transaction fee. As long as there is the word "tax", the people will really believe it. This is where the rich and the government are powerful. People are simply "stupid"!
Any investment must be something you can hold for the very long term. If you cannot hold it for the very long term, you should not invest in it
-
Research individual stocks yourself, don’t ask me! If you have to ask people to invest, you probably won’t be able to invest! When investing in individual stocks, you still have to ask people, but you don’t have the ability to pick stocks.
-
Any investment must be able to be held for an ultra-long term. If it cannot be held for an ultra-long term, it should not be invested.
-
Most people don’t have foresight. They only want to invest after reading the financial report and hearing the news, which means you have no advantage.
-
In addition to index investment, you can buy it when you have money. There is no need to know more earlier than others. Other investments require the ability to find out before others have discovered it, and dare to buy large shares and hold them for more than 30 years. Only then can it be called investment. Otherwise, it is speculation. Usually, no more than ten people in the world have this ability. The rest of the people mistakenly believe that they have positive abilities and do not know that they are leeks.
Generally retail investors are picking stocks every day, but as the saying goes, "choose and choose, and you will find a longan seller."
Investing in index funds is a relaxing and enjoyable life. Choosing individual stocks may make your life very busy and stressful. I would rather choose not to be so rich than to live a stressful life.
General retail investors are picking stocks every day, but as the saying goes, "choose and choose, and you will find a longan seller."
』.
Usually the average person does not have the ability to pick stocks. There may be less than 10 stock picking geniuses like Buffett from ancient times to the present. I don’t think anyone is one of them.
Having invested in rising stocks does not mean that you know how to pick stocks, but you must be able to invest a large amount of funds for more than 30 years to prove your stock picking and investment abilities. The success of your investment is not decided by you, it can only be determined after the coffin is closed.
Emily Cheng Hello teacher, please tell me, the top ten constituent stocks in QQQ, such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Tesla, all have increased by more than 1,000 times after being included in QQQ constituent stocks. Why are our technology stocks in Taiwan, except for TSMC, which has a relatively obvious multiple increase, but Asustek, Acer, Quanta, Inventec, Hon Hai, etc., cannot have such an increase? Thank you teacher.
Therefore, value comes from innovation, and better lives come from higher wages
-
American companies are all innovative companies. It is difficult for companies without innovation to survive in the United States. American companies all start from scratch, which is to do things that have never been done before in the world, that is, they are the first to make or the first innovative things in the world.
-
So, value comes from innovation. Improvements in life come from higher wages.
Using the United States as a benchmark to see when we can achieve the same level of innovation and wages as the United States is what every government must strive for.
- So the real long-term investment so far is US index funds.
